Hello all,
I'm new to the site but found it while doing some online research with this subject item. We are a food manufacturer and recently installed this oven for our baking needs. We had a gas oven at a different location that we no longer own, so we moved the oven to our current facility. We do not have a natural gas pipeline nearby at this facility, so we had Baxter install an LP conversion kit on the oven.
That is the background. Ever since the install we've had a couple of incidents with the oven "backfiring" when starting up. Essentially, and I'm sure you all know more about this than I do, but the gas is building up inside the oven and when it attempts to reignite it is blowing through the roof. We've had a couple different experts and techs out here to look at it and most are saying that there are no worries aside from the scare factor. I'm trying to research and see if anyone else has ever encountered this type of problem, and if so, what did you do about it? If not, do you have any recommendations as to fix it? We've replaced many things including the ignition module and valves. One of the techs looked at the heat exchange and said there didn't appear to be any issues with it being clogged or messed up welds or anything, so we're running out of options. The backfire or heat is almost immediately sucked through the exhaust hood but there is a chance of safety concerns if an employee is nearby with a potential to burn or singe them. Any feedback or thoughts would be much appreciated!
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
